Vietnam

The Vietnamese textile tradition, because of its close relation to China, reflects that of China's with the elaborate Mandarin robes and embroidered rank badges. But the Tilleke & Gibbins Textile Collection has chosen to focus on Vietnam's ethnic minorities. Located in the northeast are the Tai, cousins of the Tai found in Thailand and Laos, and in the south are other minorities such as the Alak and Jarai.
