Myanmar's charm
is perhaps in its variety of ethnic groups scattered throughout
the country. These include Burmans, Chin, Kachin, Naga,
Khami, Karen, Shan and Tangi, to name but a few. Each ethnic
group has its own language or dialect, traditions, belief
system and, of course, its own weaving style. This accounts
for the broad range in type, colors, and patterning technique
found in the weaving art of Myanmar.
